REMOTE DIAGNOSTICS ENGINEER

Department: European Operations Division

Region: Stoke On Trent

Report to: Technical Support Centre Manager

Hours: Full Time

The purpose of this position is to provide support to remote diagnostic systems to ensure optimum up time of equipment being monitored. The role will also include Support to Site surveys and installations across Europe as required

Responsibilities and Duties

Key Responsibilities

a) To utilise the remote diagnostic system to identify machine faults as they happen, and provide a suitable response to rectify the issues.
b) To provide technical support, where agreed with the customer, to end users to enable faults to be rectified without the need for an Engineer visit.
c) To identify when an engineer is required to attend site, and provide technical support to enable a first time fix to be achieved.
d) Generate training documentation for both Customer and TCS employees to enable the most effective service to be provided.
e) Assist where necessary with installations and Site surveys as required to meet the business need.
f) Investigate opportunities to improve the product to provide a more cost effective solution for all parties (TCS and customers).
g) Assist in configuration of machines, once received from the manufacturer before despatch to end user.
h) Travel to installations in UK and Europe to review processes and support the rest of the Operations team as required.
i) May be required to operate on a shift pattern.

Key Duties

• Provide support to Installed equipment via Remote Diagnostic system to optimise machine uptime.
• Support the Machine configuration process.
• Assist Installations and Site Survey processes as required.
• Monitor key performance indicators for Fault resolution
• Identify possible machine modifications to improve uptime.
• Liaise with equipment supplier to justify and implement possible improvements.
• Implement technical training and assessment program for engineering staff.

Required Experience

• HNC in Electronic and Electrical Engineering or equivalent preferred
• 5 years experience of PC systems, configuration, drive imaging and networking.
• Electronic / electrical fault finding experience in an associated field.
• Experience of Customer interaction in a Technical field.
• Understanding of Service activities and impact on / from other internal and external partners.
• Experienced with router and firewall configuration.
Required Skills and Abilities:
• Able to systematically work through problems to affect a resolution.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers to affect remote repair.
• Ability to work as part of a flexible team, to meet the business needs.
• Management of multiple tasks at any time, ensuring that project requirements are met.
• Pro-active - forward thinking to suggest and implement new working methods to support the evolving business and to improve overall system / equipment efficiency.

FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER

Department: Operations

Region / Location: Throughout UK, London, Hampshire, Berkshire, North West

Reporting to: Regional Service Manager

Hours: Full time

Salary: DOE

The following key tasks form the fundamental activities to be undertaken by the FIELD SERVICE ENGINEER for the Service Operations division. Based within a designated region and reporting to the Regional Service Manager, this role focuses on the provision of a high quality technical service to end customers.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide exceptional service to customers within a designated region
• Installation of systems and products
• Provide the customer with operator product training
• Carry out hardware and software modifications/upgrades on existing sited equipment

• Regular PPM maintenance of existing products
• Reactive call-out response on customer sites within a designated region
• Management and control of spare parts for product repair and upgrade
• Communication and escalation of any service issues in line with the relevant processes
• Cover for other regions during periods of high workload
• Building long-term working relationships with designated customers
• Working as part of a team or individually responding to on site customer support requests
• Weekend call-out cover – dependent on region
• Building long-term working relationships with designated customers
• Potential travel throughout the UK and Europe.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Sound electrical / electronic background
• Minimum 5 years related technical maintenance / service support experience
• Experience of maintaining electromechanical equipment at customer sites
• Experience of networking and/or CCTV maintenance preferable
• Recognised engineering qualification – preferably electrical/electronic.

• Logical approach to fault finding
• Strong computer skills
• Strong understanding of computer peripheral equipment and set up
• Good customer facing skills
• Ability to give operational customer training
• Organised approach to workload planning
• Ability to learn new skills and products quickly and efficiently
